After School Homework Support

Looking to support your child with additional learning opportunities during key after-school hours? Take advantage of our After-School Homework and Tutoring sessions, available during the Chicago Public School Academic School Year. We’re committed to academic excellence for every student that walks through our doors, in addition to creating and fostering a sense of belonging between students and staff.

How We Promote Academic Excellence and Long-Term Success

Students will be under the close supervision of our teaching staff and tutors who will monitor and assist with homework. Students will be able to ask questions and study. Grades are reviewed on a weekly basis and academic strategies and plans are provided to support their learning process. In addition and as necessary, we will provide supplemental homework and tutoring to support the development of important reading and math academic skills. We believe students need community support in order to pursue academic success and academic skills for long-term success. By getting to know every student, we provide community and a sense of belonging so that each student feels like a part of the UCA community. Every student is treated as an individual with much potential to grow and flourish. Along the way, we also celebrate each of their successes.

Why People Choose Us

What sets Urban Christian Academy apart from other after-school academic programs?

Safe Environment

Our goal is to provide a nurturing safe environment for all students. We strive for all of our students to have a sense of belonging when at UCA.

Relationships

We are highly relational in our approach and interactions with students. We provide a low staff-to-student ratio to facilitate the development and growth of relationships. We see each student as an individual, each with unique needs, concerns, and struggles.

Academics

On weekly basis, we monitor and assess each student's grades to identify and diagnose problem areas to address. We look at the data and trends to formulate plans and strategies to help students develop and form positive habits.
